After being introduced to electronic music in the late 1990s in Nagpur, India, Harshal Ramteke embarked on a musical journey without knowing exactly where it would lead. He initially carved out a niche as a music director for fashion shows in his native city, a pivotal era that helped him develop a sophisticated, structural understanding of live events, crowd performance, and high-level execution.

Before fully transitioning to techno as a specialized DJ and producer, Harshal spent more than a decade touring across the United States. During this time, he commanded the decks at top-tier clubs and private events, spinning Indian commercial open-format and Top 40 curation.

In 2018, Harshal pivoted entirely toward his first true love: electronic dance music. He dedicated his time to producing and performing across Southern California's competitive underground warehouse circuits, backyards, deserts, and raves. Within a few years, he began rolling out original material under his own name, Harshal. His driving techno productions quickly gained traction in the SoCal scene, culminating in EPs released on respected techno labels such as Dolma Records, Unity Records, and Mavic Music. In 2022, his music regularly charted on the global Top 50 Techno Charts, with his releases echoing across massive festival stages like EDC. His distinct production style earned heavy support from absolute titans of the industry, including Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, Coyu, Markantonio, Paco Osuna, Danny Tenaglia, Ilario Alicante, Danny Sbert, Barbuto, Cristian Varela, Marco Faraone, Anthony Pappa, Celic, Tocadisco, D-Unity, and Speaker Honey.

Seeking to push his artistic boundaries even further, Harshal launched his visionary Alien9 project in early 2023. Alien9 synthesizes his extensive background behind the decks into an aggressive, energetic dancefloor experience that openly draws from diverse musical sub-genres. To forge this unique brand of dancefloor-driven techno, Alien9 leans into his heritage, fusing an intricate knowledge of traditional Indian folk instruments with complex, cutting-edge electronic synthesizers.

Alien9’s boundary-pushing sound reached a historic commercial and critical peak in 2025, securing an elusive two #1 Beatport Chart placement victories in a single calendar year. The domination began in January/February 2025, when Alien9 released the critically acclaimed, three-track Prasaar EP—a dark, hypnotic peak-time weapon selected as the monumental 300th milestone release (UNI300) on D-Unity's legendary Unity Records. The original EP took the global techno community by storm, skyrocketing to the #1 spot on the Beatport Charts. Cementing his status as a top-tier producer, July 2025 saw him capture the #1 spot for a second time with the release of the Prasaar / Sampark Remixes album. Orchestrated alongside standard-bearer System97, the remix LP completely reimagined Alien9’s signature traditional-meets-modern style for the global underground circuit.

Today, Harshal is a core driving force in the San Diego underground movement alongside his partners Eddie Abarca and Cathy Abarca. Together, they helm the boutique promotion company 1904 Kollektiv LLC, working tirelessly to bring premium, immersive music experiences and world-class talent to San Diego. As a curator and promoter, Harshal has hosted and shared the stage with an elite roster of techno innovators, including Regal86, 1morning, DJ Hyperactive, Truncate, Drumcell, Kyle Geiger, Dustin Zahn, Adam X, Maedon, Cleric, Lindsey Herbert, and Shay De Castro.

The birth of the Alien9 moniker brings Harshal's multi-faceted skill set and singular sound signature directly to the forefront of modern electronic music.
